Databricks recently launched DBRX, an open source artificial intelligence model that outperformed both Meta’s Llama 2 and Mistral’s Mixtral, two of the most popular long learning language (LLM) models around.
Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi expressed his surprise when the results appeared. DBRX proved more powerful even than Grok, the chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI, which itself recently became open source. To the team’s surprise, DBRX also came remarkably close to GPT-4, OpenAI’s closed model that powers ChatGPT and is widely considered the most advanced in the field.
The source code for DBRX is available on GitHub. The repository contains minimal code and examples for performing inference, as well as a collection of resources and links for using DBRX.
